What Is The Self-Employment Tax Credit
The SETC is a specialized tax credit designed to provide support to self-employed individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic.
It acknowledges the unique challenges faced by those who work for themselves, especially during times of illness, caregiving responsibilities, quarantine, and related circumstances.
This credit can be a valuable resource for eligible individuals to help bridge financial gaps caused by unforeseen disruptions.
Almost Everybody With Schedule C Income Qualifies
Amidst the pandemic, millions grappled with COVID-related challenges, including illness, symptoms, quarantine, and caregiving responsibilities.
If you found yourself in such situations, where COVID impacted your ability to work, the SETC was designed to be your safety net, but it’s not too late.
Self-Employed Status:
COVID Impacts:
How Do I Qualify?
Who Does Not Qualify?
Whether you battled COVID, experienced COVID-like symptoms, needed to quarantine, underwent testing or cared for a family member affected by the virus, the SETC could be your financial relief.
If the closure of your child’s school or daycare due to COVID restrictions forced you to stay home and impacted your work, we’re here to help.
If you were self-employed in 2020 and/or 2021, you could potentially qualify for the SETC. This includes sole proprietors who run businesses with employees, 1099 subcontractors, and single-member LLCs.
If you filed a “Schedule C” on your federal tax returns for 2020 and/or 2021, you’re on the right track.
Sub S or True S Corps and C Corps are not eligible for the SETC. This unique tax credit is exclusively available to business owners who filed a “Schedule C” or a Partnership (1065) on their federal tax returns for 2020 and 2021.
When you’re ready to apply, you’ll need a few tax documents, the dates) that qualify you, and two completed documents from Gig Workers.

Start Your Application Today!
The Process:
1. Go to the “GET STARTED” button. It will take you to a list of questions that will help us determine if you qualify for this program.
2. Upload copies of your 2019, 2020 & 2021 tax returns and your drivers license into our system.
3. Our team completes the calculations to determine how much SETC refund you qualify for in less than 10 days
Three Possible Outcomes:
Outcome A:
We inform you that you do not qualify for the SETC.
Outcome B:
If you have a Tax Credit Refund LESS than $2,500; we will email you that you qualify for the credit, however, we can’t process the tax credit for you. An amount to file this small we cannot sustain on a contingency model.
Outcome C:
If you have a Tax Credit Refund of $2,500 or MORE we will email you our service agreement to come; which gives us permission to process your file.
4. You will be emailed our service agreement to e-sign.
5. We collect a 25% fee of the total SETC received AFTER you receive your refund in your hands. The Treasury will mail your refund to your home address; nothing is sent to us. Notify us that you received the refund; then we will invoice you for 25%.
Example, John is qualified for a $10,000 SETC refund. We file his paperwork. He received his $10,000 SETC refund check in the mail, then he notifies us via email and then we will invoice him for 25% of that amount ($2,500).
After you e-sign service agreement; we will send you the documents to sign for your SETC filing. We will email you the documents you will need to print out and sign; and then mail back to our office. The documents require you to sign them with a blue pen, which is a “Wet Signatures”; you unfortunately can’t e-sign them and mail them back to our office. We will then mail your documents to the IRS within 48 hours and provide you with a tracking number confirming they have been mailed.
6. Now we wait. The IRS will take 3 – 5 months to review your file and mail you your refund.
